Overview

This project aims to design an intuitive, insightful budgeting tool for marketing leads in the Food & Beverage industry, focusing on budget utilization across diverse marketing channels. The primary purpose of this tool is to facilitate easy and comprehensive budget simulations that allow marketing leads to better understand, track, and optimize their spend across a wide range of marketing channels, including TV, radio, digital, email, and magazines. Given the complex and evolving nature of marketing campaigns, this tool will support scenario planning and enable users to compare various budget scenarios side-by-side with a base scenario to help them make informed decisions.

Goal

The goal of this design project is to create a delightful and highly functional user experience that enables marketing leads to:

  1. Provide a Dashboard with realtime data on the spends and gains of existing marketing channels efficiently.

  2. Create, customize, and simulate multiple budget scenarios for different marketing channels quickly and efficiently.

  3. Compare scenarios side-by-side with the base scenario to identify the impact of budget changes across channels.

  4. Gain insights from comparisons to optimize budget allocations and plan future marketing expenses with confidence.

User Persona

Meet Jason Patel, a 40-year-old marketing lead with over a decade of experience at The Country Delight Company. Jason is highly analytical, organized, and passionate about making data-driven decisions to optimize marketing strategies. He seeks an intuitive and insightful budgeting tool that allows him to simulate and compare various marketing budget scenarios across channels

User Journey Mapping

This mood board visualizes the end-to-end user journey for a marketing budget simulation tool, highlighting both user actions and emotional responses across each stage of interaction. The journey is mapped from initial onboarding and setup through scenario creation and real-time performance monitoring, illustrating both pain points and opportunities for enhancement.

User Flow

This user flow diagram outlines the primary pathways and features within a Budget Simulator Tool designed for marketing leads in a Food & Beverage organization. The flow encompasses the core functionalities needed to enable users to simulate, track, and analyze budget allocations across various marketing channels, with easy access to performance metrics, product-specific budgets, and customized settings.

UI Design

Once the usability issues were resolved, I moved on to design the final screens in Figma. My goal was to
create a visual identity that’s aligned with the brand’s values and message, which is: “brand motto”. Also,
I’ve checked the competition and took a deep dive into my catalog of references for inspiration.
